It seems that Jack Huston has landed a lead role in "The Crow" remake. James O'Barr, who wrote the graphic novel the movie would be based on, confirms the "Boardwalk Empire" actor "has definitely been cast" as the new Eric Draven for the upcoming movie, AceShowbiz said.
Speaking at Lexington Comic and Toy Convention, O'Barr reveals as quoted by DreadCentral the film "will shoot in a couple of months." He also says that it, unlike the 1994 original flick starring Brandon Lee, will essentially be a straight adaptation of his original graphic novel.
Luke Evans was previously set to headline the remake but he left to pursue other projects. He has since been cast in Disney's "Beauty and the Beast". Although O'Barr was previously interested in having Sam Witwer replace Evans, he was "really happy" that the role was eventually given to Huston.
The film follows a murdered rock star who is brought to life by supernatural bird crow to avenge his murder. Corin Hardy serves as a director and Cliff Dorfman helps with the script.
