According to court records, Google paid Apple a billion in 2014 to keep its search engine available for iOS. Additionally, Apple reportedly saw a 34 percent cut of the revenue Google generates via iOS devices “at one point”, The Next Web says.
This information comes out of the same Oracle-Google lawsuit that notes Google has made over $36 billion from Android since acquiring it, TNW says
In a filing to attempt to have court papers sealed, Google writes, “The specific financial terms of Google’s agreement with Apple are highly sensitive to both Google and Apple. Both Apple and Google have always treated this information as extremely confidential.”
