Armenian, Azerbaijani FMs agree to continue dialogue

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met on September 22 on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Building on the outcomes of the August 8 Washington Peace Summit, the ministers exchanged views on possible steps to advance the peace agenda.

The ministers agreed to continue the dialogue.

On August 8, a trilateral meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev was held at the White House, resulting in a Joint Declaration summarizing the summit's outcomes.

Also, in Washington, in the presence of the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the U.S., Foreign Ministers Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov preliminarily signed the “Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.”
