ANC’s political demarche beyond ethical norms – coalition representative

Head of coalition’s working group Davit Harutyunyan labeled the refusal of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) to participate in the regular meeting with the authorities as a political demarche which goes beyond ethical norms.

According to Harutyunyan, the ANC provided no explanation for the decision and did not inform of it beforehand.

As to prospects of the dialogue, he remarked that it demands political will on both sides. “ANC lacks this will to go on with the process properly,” Harutyunyan said.

Asked whether the ANC’s decision might be linked to arrest of Congress activist Tigran Arakelyan, he said that during the previous meeting ANC representatives confirmed that Arakelyan’s detainment has no connection to the ongoing talks.
