In 2012, Armenia will be facing a serious choice of foreign policy line, having to decide between the Eurasian Union or NATO and EU, according to New Times party leader.
As Aram Karapetyan told a news conference in Yerevan, after 2012 presidential election in Russia, Moscow will be focusing on integration in post-Soviet territory through Eurasian Union.
“With Georgia and Azerbaijan aiming for NATO membership, troubles in Iran, Syria, complicated situation in Arab world, how will Armenia, as Russia’s outpost, tackle those challenges?” the politician questioned.
As the same time, Karapetyan stressed his personal adherence to Russia-oriented policy, believing it best for Yerevan to strengthen ties with Moscow in view of intensifying Turkey-Azerbaijan tandem.
