AZERI FOREIGN MINISTRY CONCERNED OVER “POSSIBLE MILITARY ASSISTANCE TO KARABAKH BY FRANCE”

The Azeri foreign ministry intends to lodge a protest against the meetings of the Nagorno Karabakh leader Arkady Ghukasian with representatives of National Institute for Civil Population Protection of France. As reported by “Echo” Baku newspaper, this was the response of the press service of the country foreign department to the talks between A. Ghukasian with French experts March 29. Let us remind that the French party displayed readiness to provide the necessary engineering assistance to the NKR Department of Emergency Situations, as well as to enroll Nagorno Karabakh representatives in courses on civil population protection under emergency conditions organized by the institute. “Taking into account the fact that the Department of Emergency Situations is a partially militarized structure, it is not ruled out for France to render military support to NKR under the guise of engineering assistance,” – the Azeri foreign ministry considers.
