The problem of talks on Iran’s nuclear program is issue of concessions, Iranian studies expert Nver Davtyan said.
“West urges Iran to thwart its nuclear program, while Iran insists it is for exclusively peaceful purposes. The other aspect of the nuclear program is to get new kind of armament. It is the moral side of the issue,” the expert said, adding that Iran needs to demonstrate its might and potential to seek leadership in the Muslim world and in the region generally.
Mr. Davtyan said that though Iran’s scientific-technical development yields to the level voiced in the statements, its potential renders implementation of target programs possible even in blockade.
“Though Iran’s weaponry yields to the quality of those of the West, Iran keeps improving them. Ahmadinejad said that for the past 30 years Iran struggled without nuclear weapon and experienced no problems. This proves that the nuclear program is of demonstrative nature,” the expert said.
