Asus has started shipping the Transformer Pad in the U.S. market with a tempting $379 price tag, Fudzilla reports.
Powered by a Tegra 3 SoC clocked at 1.2GHz, the entry level SKU features 1GB of memory and 32GB of storage, which sounds pretty impressive given the price. The stripped down Pad 300 features a 10.1-inch 1280×800 screen, 8-megapixel camera, micro HDMI and micro SD and 4G LTE is also optional.
However, in order to live up to its transformer moniker, the Pad 300 also needs a keyboard dock and it will set the customer back $149 and make the whole package quite costly. There is no word on EU pricing just yet, but it is presumed to end up somewhat cheaper than Acer’s Iconia A510, which goes for €399.
