According to 168 Zham daily, Prosperous Armenia’s decision on refusing to join the coalition was taken during the last meeting between party head Gagik Tsarukyan and Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) leader, President Serzh Sargsyan.
Prosperous Armenia will endorse President Sargsyan’s candidacy during 2013 elections and will join the coalition following the presidential race.
Hovik Abrahamyan, who will probably be appointed as National Assembly speaker, will ensure the fulfillment of Prosperous Armenia’s pledges.
In all probability, the RPA and Prosperous Armenia will form a coalition after presidential elections, the daily says.
However, in conversation with 168 Zham, parliament vice-speaker Eduard Sharmazanov refuted the information.
“That isn’t true to fact. Prosperous Armenia’s statement is conditioned by inter-party decisions, and needs no comments,” the paper quoted Mr. Sharmazanov as saying.
