Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan is optimistic about Armenia’s future following the presidential elections in February.
“I am optimistic by nature. I think future developments will benefit Armenia,” he said in interview with Interfax, deeming the political situation in the country normal.
“In the past five years Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan succeeded in creating a favorable climate for cooperation, sound political competition, dialogue and peaceful co-existence of parties with different ideologies and visions on future. The disagreements between the political forces back in 2008, as well as the public split were settled due to President Sargsyan’s efforts,” he said.
In this context, he hailed the favorable political climate in Armenia ahead of the presidential polls.
“The political forces represented in the parliament are free to openly express their position. Crucial measures have been taken for the past years aimed at formation of civil society, with reasons behind public disagreements generating hostile attitudes eliminated thanks to President Sargsyan’s policy,” the Prime Minister said.
