ARF Dashnaktsutyun party is against Prosperous Armenia leader Gagik Tsarukyan’s possible running for the president, Zhoghovurd daily reported.
ARFD members have expressed skepticism over Tsarukyan’s ability to rival President Serzh Sargsyan and their backing Prosperous Armenia chairman.
Asked about the reasons behind ARFD’s opposing Tsarukyan as presidential candidate, the party member Artsvik Minasyan answered, “I am not authorized to confirm the reports as we haven’t expressed a final standpoint on the issue yet.”
