Daniel Radcliffe's "Kill Your Darlings" and Octavia Spencer's "Fruitvale" are among the contenders in the 2013 Sundance Film Festival's U.S. and World competitions, TheWrap reported.
Also in contention: the Rooney Mara film "Ain't Them Bodies Grand" and "Afternoon Delight," starring Kathryn Hahn and Jane Lynch.
"Fruitvale," directed and written by Ryan Coogler, tells the true story of Oscar, a 22-year-old Bay Area resident who crosses paths with friends, enemies, family and strangers on the last day of 2008.
Radcliffe's "Kill Your Darlings," meanwhile, features the "Harry Potter" star as a young Allen Ginsberg as he meets fellow wordsmiths Jack Kerouac and William Burroughs.
The 2013 Sundance Film Festival takes place Jan. 17-27 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah. The 113 feature-length films selected for next year's festival represent 32 countries and 51 first-time filmmakers, including 27 in competition.
