Yet another prestigious awards event announced its nominees. Dominating the list was Steven Spielberg's history drama "Lincoln" with a total of 13 nods. The Abraham Lincoln film broke the record at the awards for a movie with the most nominations ever, beating previous record-holder "Black Swan" with 12 nods in 2010, AceShowbiz said.
In addition to vying for the Best Picture title, the epic history movie was up for Best Actor for Daniel Day-Lewis and Best Director for Spielberg. The other nods included Best Cinematography, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Costume Design, Best Makeup, Best Editing, Besy Acting Ensemble and Best Score.
In the coveted Best Picture category, "Lincoln" would face off against nine other highly-praised features this year. They were "Les Miserables", "Silver Linings Playbook", "Argo", "Zero Dark Thirty (2012)", "Beasts of the Southern Wild", "Django Unchained", "Life of Pi", "The Master" and "Moonrise Kingdom".
Trailing behind Spielberg's movie was Tom Hooper's star-studded musical drama "Les Miserables" with 11 nods, including Best Actor for Hugh Jackman, Best Supporting Actress for Anne Hathaway and Best Acting Ensemble.
