A new image from director Guillermo del Toro’s monsters vs. robots film Pacific Rim has landed online, and it features neither monsters nor robots, Collider said.
Instead, we get a look at the characters played by Idris Elba and Rinko Kikuchi in what looks to be some sort of control room setting. The story finds humans towards the end of a losing battle against giant monsters called Kaiju. In order to combat the creatures, humans have developed their own giant human-controlled robots called Jaegers.
The film also stars Charlie Hunnam, Charlie Day, and Ron Perlman. Pacific Rim opens in 3D on July 12, 2013.
