The upcoming comedy sequel Horrible Bosses 2 won’t be the only Bosses reunion happening in the near future. Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis have signed on to star in the Universal Pictures thriller One Night on the Hudson, with Bosses director Seth Gordon attached to take the helm. The story centers on a straight-laced rookie cop and his jaded veteran partner as they are tasked with transporting a federal witness from New Jersey to Manhattan, only to encounter a number of obstacles along the way. Gordon will be working from a spec screenplay by T.J. Fixman, Collider said.
Per THR, One Night on the Hudson is being developed as a starring vehicle for Day and Sudeikis with Gordon at the helm. Gordon is coming off the smashing box office success of last month’s comedy Identity Thief. Gordon, Day, Sudeikis, and Jason Bateman recently closed deals to return for Horrible Bosses 2.
Day will next be seen this summer in Guillermo del Toro’s Warner Bros. tentpole Pacific Rim, while Sudeikis stars opposite Jennifer Aniston in the comedy We’re the Millers, which opens this August, in addition to his ongoing SNL duties.
