Heritage party leader, former presidential candidate Raffi Hovannisian issued a statement, urging for the resignation of the police chief and the head of National Security Service.
“Armenian police have issued a statement, believing themselves authorized to slam my actions, based on unfounded and absurd judgments.
I urge Serzh Sargsyan, police chief Vladimir Gasparyan and National Security Service head Gorik Hakobyan to stop representing the Armenian people. If you consider my rallies “illegal, with their peaceful nature depending on the current developments”, come to the Liberty Square and arrest me. I am going to assume the responsibilities Armenian people entrusted to me on February 18.
Let me make it clear that it’s neither Raffi Hovannisian’s victory, nor Serzh Sargsyan’s defeat,” the statement reads.
