Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met today, on April 17 with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjørn Jagland.
Welcoming the guest, President Sargsyan thanked the Council of Europe for its consistent support to the implementation of reforms in Armenia.
Priorities of the Armenian presidency and the program of actions, particularly, events to be organized in Strasburg and Yerevan were in the focus of the discussion. President Sargsyan expressed the Armenian authorities’ support to the reforms initiated by the Secretary General at the Council of Europe.
Central issues of the CoE agenda and the existing challenges were further discussed, with the importance of the steps to fight discrimination and intolerance mutually stressed, presidential press service reported.
