The Armenian National Congress (ANC) opposition bloc is in search for a leader, with the chairman of People's Party of Armenia Stepan Demirchyan’s possible candidacy discussed in private talks, according to media reports.
In a conversation with PanARMENIAN.Net correspondent, Mr. Demirchyan refused to comment on the information, voicing readiness to answer the questions at May 16 press conference.
Leader of Christian Democratic Renaissance Party Sos Gimishyan told Iravunk daily that the reports are not true to fact.
“People's Party of Armenia will remain in the bloc. However, the party has resolved against attending ANC meetings for a while,” he said.
Asked as to the possible candidates for ANC leader’s post, Mr. Gimishyan said the issue was not on the agenda.
