The coordinating commission for 2013 Come Home program and the program’s inter-departmental working group held their first joint session, chaired by Minister Hranush Hakobyan.
”This is the fifth year that we are hosting Diaspora Armenian children and youth in Armenia in the framework of Come Home program,” Minister Hakobyan said, expressing gratitude to the ministries and demonstrative districts, their leaders, the host families and the communities.
The event featured the screening of 2012 “Come Home” video, followed by a discussion of the program problems.
Come Home 2013 program envisages tours, as well as cultural and cognitive events. The program participants will spend 9 days with the host families and 5 days at a camp in Aghavnadzor. Nearly 1,000 Diaspora Armenian children and youth are expected to participate this year.
The program will kick off on June 18 and will run until August 31. About 3000 participants visited homeland in the framework of Come Home program in the past four years.
This year’s program includes daily Armenian language classes that will be held at Shahumyan School N 1 in Yerevan.
