Gas Supply to Georgia and Armenia Resumed

The welding works at the gas pipeline blown up last week in North Ossetia were finished on Saturday; the gas supply to Georgia and Armenia was resumed early Sunday though some disturbances occurred in the evening. According to director of Gasexport Georgian office David Morchiladze they were “conditioned by some technical reasons”. Today Kavkaztransgas Ltd. Director General vasiliy Zinovyev told that the gas is being pumped through the North Caucasus-Transcaucasia without disturbances. “Presently Georgia and Armenia receive 500 thousand cubic meters of gas every day. The system is being infilled to prevent pressure overfalls,” he said, reported Interfax.
