Sony is reportedly adding a smartphone with a 20-megapixel camera to its Xperia range, Digital Spy said.
The Xperia i1 has appeared in a leaked photograph published by Brazilian tech website TechTudo, which suggests it will sport a similar form factor to the Xperia Z and Xperia Z Ultra.
The image depicts a glossy white handset smaller than the 6.4-inch Xperia Z Utra, but slightly larger than the standard Xperia Z.
Previous reports have referred to the device as the Xperia Honami, and claimed that it will feature a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor, Walkman audio chip and Carl Zeiss zoom lens.
The handset faces competition from other smartphones equipped with advanced photographic capabilities, such as Samsung's Galaxy S4 Zoom and Nokia's upcoming EOS device.
Sony is yet to officially announce the Xperia i1.
