A criminal case has been initiated over Armenian serviceman Hakob Injighulyan’s not returning back to his military post under Article 365 Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code, Defense Ministry spokesman Artsrun Hovhannisyan said.
"Preliminary investigation has not established legally defined crime in Hakob Injighulyan’s actions. It was proved that Injighulyan found himself on the Azerbaijani-controlled territory over losing his bearings on the terrain, and will not be subject to criminal prosecution upon his repatriation," the Defense Ministry statement said.
On the night of Aug 8, Injighulyan, born in 1991, failed to find his bearings on the ground and crossed into the Azeri-controlled territory. No meeting with the ICRC representatives has been organized so far.
