The acting Armenian president Robert Kocharian enjoys the largest support of the population on the threshold of presidential elections to be held February 19. Thus, according to the data provided by “Globe News” analytic agency, as reported by “De Facto” agency, out of 1250 people asked, “Whom would you elect president if the elections were held this week,” 44.9% of the respondents aged 18 to 25 were in favor of Robert Kocharian. Among this category leader of the People Party of Armenia Stepan Demirchian gathered 9.5%, Artashes Geghamian (“National Unity” party) and Raffi Hovhannisian (chief of the Armenian Center for National and International Studies) collected 7.1% and 4.4% respectively. All the other candidates for the president of Armenia had a bit less than 2%. Robert Kocharian is the undeniable leader among the group of interviewees between 26 and 35 – 37.1%. 41.3 % of the respondents of 45 to 60 also gave preference to the acting president of Armenia. Robert Kocharian collected approximately the same amount of votes – 39.9% – among the respondents aged over 60.
