Samsung’s own operating system Tizen screenshots leaked

Screenshots purportedly showing Samsung's own smartphone operating system Tizen have leaked, according to Digital Spy.

SamMobile obtained the images from the Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service database.

The leaked shots indicate that Tizen could look significantly different from the TouchWiz overlay, which the company already uses on its Android-based smartphones.

However, there are also some visible similarities, including the notification bar icons, Driving Mode and S-Beam.

Samsung is expected to reveal the first Tizen-powered handsets in February at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The alternative operating system's arrival is the Korean firm's attempt to shake off its reliance on Google-run Android.
