Polish MIDIA InkPhone combines e-reader and phone

The MIDIA InkPhone has been announced by Polish company Onyx, Digital Spy said.

Sporting a 4.3-inch front-lit e-ink display with similar properties to Amazon's early Kindles, the device offers up to two weeks of power from a single charge.

The handset is intended to be a budget offering aimed at those who require long battery life, running off a low-end Rockchip processor backed up by 512MB of RAM.

The InkPhone offers 4GB of internal storage as well as microSD support, but is not compatible with Google Play or the Amazon Kindle app, despite being geared towards e-book enthusiasts.

Onyx's latest offering has drawn comparisons to the dual-screen YotaPhone, which features an LCD display on the rear and an LCD screen on the front.

The MIDIA InkPhone will be available in Germany and Poland in April, and will be available to purchase in other territories through Amazon, bearing a €140 price tag.
