Dermot Mulroney has joined the cast of “Insidious Chapter 3” the next installment in the “Insidious” franchise written and directed by Leigh Whannell, TheWrap said.
“Insidious 3” will be produced by Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions joined by Oren Peli and James Wan. Steven Schneider, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Peter Schlessel, Lia Buman, and Entertainment One's Xavier Marchand are executive producing.
Focus Features has acquired the rights to “Insidious” from FilmDistrict and will bring “Insidious Chapter 3” to U.S. theaters on April 3, 2015. Principle photography is slated to begin this summer.
Mulroney most recently starred on the NBC drama “Crisis,” which was canceled in May. He also co-starred in the Oscar-nominated ”August: Osage County” alongside Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts.
