Oscar-nominated Liam Neeson is the latest star to join the cast of the upcoming comedy sequel Ted 2, Seth MacFarlane confirmed Wednesday, Sept 24 on Twitter. MacFarlane is returning to helm, co-write the script and voice the ribald title character, The Hollywood Reporter said.
In his tweet, MacFarlane noted that both Neeson and recently confirmed castmember Morgan Freeman had been on the set to film this week.
Neeson, who currently stars in A Walk Among the Tombstones, played the villain in MacFarlane's A Million Ways to Die in the West, which flopped earlier this year. Ted, released in June 2012, grossed $549.4 million worldwide.
Ted 2 stars Mark Wahlberg and Amanda Seyfried. Universal releases the film June 26, 2015.
