A former Apple executive has been sentenced to a year in prison for selling secrets.
According to Digital Spy, Paul S Devine pleaded guilty to wire fraud, conspiracy and money laundering three years ago, after providing company secrets to suppliers.
Devine, who was a supply manager for the iPhone maker between 2005 and 2010, sold confidential information to suppliers and manufacturers so they could negotiate better deals with Apple.
He escaped a maximum 20-year sentence but was told to pay $4.5 million for his crimes.
Devine was sentenced in a San Jose federal court on Friday (December 5).
A reason for the lengthy delay in his sentencing was not given.
