PM, chief of IMF mission to Armenia discuss bilateral cooperation

Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan met with the chief of IMF mission to Armenia, Mark Horton Thursday, Feb 12, ARKA reports. IMF Resident Representative in Armenia Teresa Daban Sanchez also attended the meeting.

At the meeting, the Armenian official stressed the major contribution of services, agriculture and industry sectors to last year’s economic growth, with economic activity index totalling 3.9 percent in 2014.

Abrahamyan was quoted as saying by the government press office that his government will continue the reforms aimed at preserving the economic growth, improving business environment, promoting exports and attracting investment.

Horton, in turn, highlighted the importance of measures designed to promote economic growth in the context of challenges and implementation of the planned reforms. The parties also discussed bilateral relations, current economic situation in Armenia, as well as issues relating to fiscal and monetary policy.
