Tesla’s first SUV, the Model X, is set to be officially launched in the U.S. in the coming weeks.
After some ‘self-chosen’ delays to ensure the new EV is ready from Day One, Tesla CEO Elon Musk will pull the covers off the highly-anticipated model soon. Under those covers will be a car with similar design features to the Model X concept, including a seven-seat layout, according to the Motor Report.
Meanwhile, Tesla’s more-affordable future offering in the midsized Model 3 is still on track for a 2017 production debut, but is dependent on the Tesla Gigafactory, which is designed to drive the cost of the EV batteries down as a mass-production facility in the U.S. state of Nevada.
