LG rolls out double-sided wave-shaped display at IFA

One of the more unusual products to come to come out of the IFA trade show was a double-sided OLED display from LG with a wave-like shape, Digital Spy reports.

The curvy panel measures 111 inches diagonally and is the result of three 65-inch Ultra HD OLED screens being combined via a technique called "Vertical Tiling".

"We are now living in an era of displays. Through displays, we share information. Through displays, we communicate. Through displays, we look into the future and dream about it," said LG Display CEO Dr Sang Beom Han.

"We want OLED to be the revolution of light that opens up the future we all want to live in."

LG already uses OLED technology in its curved TVs, including the 77EG9900, which can shift from curved to flat at the push of a button.

However, the wave shaped-panel is unlikely to receive a consumer release, as double-sided displays are more likely to be used for commercial purposes.
