Renée Zellweger talks role in “Bridget Jones’s Baby”

Renée Zellweger has admitted that it wasn't easy to revive her British accent for the upcoming Bridget Jones's Baby, Digital Spy reports.

The actress is due to reprise her role as the iconic diarist in the upcoming sequel, more than a decade after the last film.

When asked whether tackling the UK dialect again was easy, Zellweger – whose British accent as Bridget has divided people in the past – told E!: "I wouldn't say that."

She also admitted that she didn't think a third film would happen, but said: "I'm really glad to be doing it.

"It's really a nice reunion with old friends. And it's always wonderful to be back in London and I love this character so it's been a real treat to get to revisit it again."

The film will also see the return of Colin Firth as her on-screen love interest, as well as Patrick Dempsey from Grey's Anatomy joining the franchise.

The film is currently shooting in the capital, directed by Sharon Maguire.

Bridget Jones's Baby will arrive in UK and U.S. cinemas on September 16, 2016.
