Tumblr was already a delightful emporium of GIFs, but we're about to see a lot more of the Internet's favourite short-form video format on there following its latest iOS update, Digital Spy reports.
The blogging service has just introduced GIF creations tools on iPhone and iPad, allowing users to convert footage from their camera roll into shareable looping clips.
"GIFs are great! But actually making them kinda sucks," said Tumblr in a blog post. "Today any video or burst on your iOS device can be GIFFed, edited and posted using the Tumblr app."
The Tumblr app does most of the legwork for you, marking which media is convertible into GIF format and allowing users to crop and cut the results.
The update is exclusive to iOS devices at the moment, but Tumblr has promised to bring it to Android users in the near future.
This is the second major update the service has received this month, with an instant messaging feature beginning its rollout just last week.
