Lionel Richie adds more dates to UK tour

After thousands of fans scrambled to get tickets to his tour dates, Lionel Richie has added another night at London's O2 Arena, one in Manchester and a new date in Birmingham, Gigwise reports. These dates will sit along side the 'Hello' singer's open air tour, which includes shows in the likes of Colchester and Gloucester.

After his appearance at Glastonbury drew the biggest crowd of the whole weekend this summer, Richie's greatest hits album, The Definitive Collection, made it to No.1 in the UK charts for the first time in nearly a quarter of a century.

He subsequently announced a handful of open air dates, as well as several arena shows. Now, he's added four more arena dates to his summer tour. He'll play a third date at London's O2 Arena on 6 July, a second night at Manchester Arena on 29 June and a brand new date in Birmingham on 7 July.

Speaking of the forthcoming tour, Richie said, "I had such a great time in the UK this year and I can’t wait to visit new places and meet new people. Performing at Glastonbury for the first time was such a thrill for me and given me an appetite to do new things in the UK. I know these shows are going to be very special."
