iOS shipped to more homes in 2015 than Windows did – a first-time-ever deal for Apple, Digital Spy said citing an MCV report.
The data is comparing iOS – the mobile operating system – with home-based Windows, though, so that's a bit of a strange decision.
Also, Android shipments were higher than either Windows or iOS.
Meanwhile, global sales of PCs (with the figures including Macs) dropped by 10.6% in 2015 – a 7.5% drop if you include detachable, tablet-style laptops, which the original figures don't.
It's all down to a number of different reasons, but analysts are predicting 2016 will be brighter for the home computer market – with more understanding of what's on offer, a more stable Windows 10 system and so on.
