Full Samsung Galaxy S7 specs leak with 12MP camera

The Samsung Galaxy S7 release date is now just a mere matter of weeks away, and the leaks are coming thick and fast, Digital Spy reports.

Latest reports have seen a full Galaxy S7 specs sheet leak, with the eagerly-awaited iPhone 6S rival tipped to host a 12-megapixel camera.

With last year's Samsung Galaxy S6 having boasted a 16-megapixel snapper – still one of the best smartphone cameras around – if accurate, this would be an unexpected move from the handset creator.

While megapixel count far from guarantees impressive picture quality, we'd be surprised to see Sammy messing with its winning formula in such dramatic fashion, Digital Spy said.

Elsewhere, the GforGames-based leaks have claimed to offer a full benchmark of the S7 – a handset doing the rounds under the guise of the Samsung SM-G930F.

These reports have suggested the handset will retail its predecessor's 5.1-inch 2560 x 1440 pixel QHD display while moving to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage as standard.

As expected, the Galaxy S7 has been tipped to run Google's latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, with Qualcomm's Snapgragon 820 chipset reportedly being shunned for an own-brand Exynos 8890 option.

With the phone's full array of internals having repeatedly been splashed across the web, it is expected that Samsung will formally unveil its next flagship phone next month.

The Galaxy S7 launch event is expected to be held in the run up to MWC 2016 on February 21.
