Twitter to expand Moments feature to everyone

Twitter's Moments is a handy tool for when you're wanting to catch up on a viral news story through the platform.

Previously, Moments have been curated by Twitter and a handful of publishers, but now the company is set to open up the feature – which offers a string of popular tweets following a specific thread – to a bevy of new partners, including brands such as Nike and Budweiser, Digital Spy said.

That's not all, though, with the social network also indicating plans to make the feature available to everyone over the coming months. When that feature drops, any Twitter user will be able to create their own Moment.

While the company hasn't given details, it could potentially work as a tweetable Snapchat (or Instagram) Story – meaning link-tweeting by posting replies to yourself could soon be a thing of the past.

The move comes as Twitter tries to rebound from disappointing growth. We've already seen the start of an ad campaign focusing on politics and cultural events, as well as the introduction of more sporting live streams and live highlights for Premier League football, Digital Spy said.
