"The Equalizer 2" is moving forward smoothly. The sequel is planned to start filming in September 2017. Director Antoine Fuqua is expected to return behind the lens, reuniting with Denzel Washington who will reprise his role as the main hero, AceShowbiz said.
Richard Wenk, the screenwriter from the first film, is also back for the second one. "The script is done," producer Todd Black said after a screening of "The Magnificent Seven". "We start shooting right after Labor Day, maybe right before Labor Day depending on Denzel's schedule."
"So Equalizer 2 will start shooting in September of next year, maybe earlier depending on another movie that we're shooting with Denzel before that. We're going to do a little bit more work and we're going to go into casting right after that for his nemesis," he continued.
