Apple iPhone 8 to reportedly feature special dual-SIM edition

Each year, when it comes to the iPhone, one kind of leak never fails to disappoint. Sources always claim that Apple’s smartphone will feature a dual SIM version. Now, with ten months until the iPhone 8 will be launched by Apple, similar rumors ahve started surfacing again. The iPhone 8 has been a regular feature of the rumor mill despite the fact that there’s a lot of time left until its launch, Wccftech reports.

Taking a look at the information which has surfaced so far, the iPhone 8 is going to be quite a device indeed, with an all new design, glass as the building material, an edge to edge display and a virtual fingerprint sensor. Apple’s got a lot riding on the device, particularly as the company hasn’t upgraded the iPhone by much over the past couple of years.

Now, Chinese sources claim that Apple will launch a special variant of the iPhone for the country. Prior to the launch of the iPhone 7, rumors claimed that a dual SIM But the iPhone 7 came and went with now such upgrade. Now, with ten months left until the launch of its successor, the iPhone is seeing similar rumors, with an Apple patent being cited as evidence.

The source quotes unnamed Chinese executives and an Apple patent which was filed by the company in October. The patents, numbered 2016101166075 and 2016100813788 deal with dual SIM function and dual SM power management for mobile devices. Apple definitely seems to have some dual SIM pans under the works, and with the pouplarity of the feature in China, the company might go ahead an launch a special iPhone variant for the country.
