Armenia expects to sign new partnership agreement with EU in fall

Armenia expects to sign a new framework agreement with the European Union in fall 2017, foreign minister Edward Nalbandian said during an official visit to Italy.

“The comprehensive partnership agreement between Armenia and the European Union defines the framework of our dynamic trade and economic relations and the expanded sectoral cooperation,” Nalbandian told the first session of the Armenia-Italy intergovernmental commission in Rome.

According to Nalbandian, the Armenia-EU partnership enables the country to work towards better bilateral ties with the European Union member countries.

Nalbandian left for Rome on Wednesday, June 7 and has so far met his Italian counterpart Angelino Alfano, as well as a Holy See representative.
