Goat Girl alt-rock band rolls out new single “Crow Cries”

Try not moshing along to 'Crow Cries', a new two minute alt-rock single from the irreverent London four-piece Goat Girl.

Following on from 'Country Sleaze' and b-side 'Scum' – that were released in October – 'Crow Cries' shows this group of 20-year-olds pushing their sound to an exciting new high, Gigwise said.

Vocally, a dark Mark Lanegan-esque growl in the intro sets the scene to music that draws dark aesthetic matching the image of a crow. Following a hook-laden clean guitar riff set to heavy floor tom drumming and fuzz-laden bass, the verse kicks off and lyrics of urban disharmony lead on to an anti-chorus before the verse kicks back in again with more adrenaline. An aggressive instrumental wig-out at the end is where you imagine it all kicks off when they play this live, Gigwise said.

It also bears mentioning the production. There's nothing on the record to make it sound anything more complicated than a fantastic, tight guitar band playing through an incredible rig. This keeps the character and vision of the artists firmly in-tact. 'Crow Cries' is out on limited edition on 25 August 7", Gigwise said.

Meanwhile, Goat Girl have enjoyed a good run in 2017 on the live circuit. They've been on tour with Moonlandingz, a great start to a career for any band. They show no sign of slowing down either.

The band will be heading out on their first UK headline tour this winter. Goat Girl tour / festival dates below
