WAYS OF KARABAKH CONFLICT SETTLEMENT TO BE FOUND FOR SOUTH CAUCASUS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Ways to settle the Karabakh conflict should be found to ensure sustainable development of the South Caucasian region. Greek ambassador to Armenia Antonios Vlavianos, who also presents Denmark presiding at the EU, stated it at the forth meeting of the commission on Armenia-EU inter-parliamentary cooperation in Yerevan. In the ambassador’s words, the conflict settlement will let attract significant investments to the region. EU representatives pointed out the importance of developing trade, bringing Armenia’s legislative field to conformity with European standards. The significance of closing the Armenian atomic power plant and searching for alternative energy sources, for which EU is ready to render 100 million US dollars, were also mentioned.
