“I think that the joint Armenian-Russian military grouping was a success,” – Armenian defense minister Serge Sargsian told journalists today after the Armenian-Russian tactical exercises held in the training ground near Gyumri Armenian city. In his words, as reported by “Arka” agency, the interaction of the subdivisions included in the grouping was successful. “Today I can say that they are battle-worthy and are ready to carry out the tasks put,” – the minister said. In the words of commander of the group of the Russian troops in the Transcaucasus Nikolay Zolotov, the exercises were a good experience for the Russian subdivisions both from the point of view of troop fight and interaction with the subdivisions of the Armenian armed forces. Let us note that the tactical exercises were held against the background of joint planned command staff exercises of the 102-nd Russian military base in Armenia and the 5-th army corps of the armed forces of the Republic of Armenia, which will last until August 10.
