Deputy Defense Minister Arman Sargsyan has provided details about a new concept which will transform the Armed Forces of Armenia.
On Tuesday, March 15, Sargsyan was asked in parliament whether the Defense Ministry's plan to transform the army so that it "defends against aggression rather than shows aggression" means the armed forces are going to become "toothless".
The Deputy Defense Minister said they are not planning to build a "toothless" army but are emphasizing that the Armenian Armed Forces will not pursue a policy of aggression.
"The goal of the Armenian Armed Forces is not to provoke a war, not to show aggression towards its neighbors. There can be no question of being "toothless", the state is doing everything to make our armed forces efficient and capable of counterattacking," Sargsyan said.
