A resident of the community of Noravan in the province of Syunik was killed in Azerbaijan shelling on Wednesday, September 14, town chief Slavik Papyan has said, according to Sputnik Armenia.
Papyan said the civilian was probably encouraged by the alleged ceasefire, which was reported earlier in the day. According to him, he had either climbed a nearby height to bring the kettle back or was trying to help take care of possible injuries.
The head of the community said that the man was 30 years old and had four children.
The Armenian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday morning that the situation on the border remained tense, with the Azerbaijani military continuing to shell the Armenian positions and civilian homes. Photos published online show damage to residential buildings in villages situated the closest to the border. 105 Armenian servicemen have been confirmed dead.
