Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and French President Emmanuel Macron in phone talks on Friday, September 16, discussed the aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against the sovereign territory of Armenia.
Pashinyan unveiled details about the situation and noted that despite the relative tranquility at the border, the situation remains very tense.
Macron, meanwhile, reaffirmed his willingness to promote dialogue and peace, according to a statement from Pashinyan’s office.
The two also weighed in on Armenia's appeal to the UN Security Council. Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized the importance of an adequate reaction of the international community to what is happening.
Also Friday, Pashinyan spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss the implementation of decisions made after Armenia sent an application to the Collective Security Treaty Organization, of which both countries are members.
The Armenian Defense Ministry said on Friday morning that no significant incidents were registered overnight. 135 Armenians have been confirmed dead so far.
