PARLIAMENT MAJORITY SEES NO POINT IN NATIONAL ASSEMBLY DISSOLUTION

Today a conference, in which the leaders of the parliamentary factions and deputy groups took part, was held in the National Assembly of Armenia. The leaders of the political forces represented in the parliament discussed the ways out of the crisis situation in the National Assembly. The conflict situation appeared due to the dispute concerning the legality of the opposition demand to put the question of beginning the process of impeachment of the President in the agenda without vote. According to the available information, the meeting did not result in resolving the differences. Leader of “Unity” faction, which makes the parliament majority Galust Sahakian told journalists, that in his opinion, the way out was to appeal to the Constitutional court to counsel on the compliance of the opposition demand to the constitution. In his words, the talks about possible dissolution of the parliament are groundless.
