According to official data, the gross domestic product (GDP) of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) grew by 4.2% between January and September 2024. Growth rates in individual member states were as follows: Armenia – 6%, Belarus – 4.5%, Kazakhstan – 4.1%, Kyrgyzstan – 8.4%, and Russia – 4.2%, reports Sputnik Armenia.
As reported by the press service of the Kazakh government, these figures were presented during a closed-format meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Almaty, attended by Armenia’s Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan.
The summit focused on the economic development prospects of the EAEU and the need for joint efforts to achieve the bloc’s economic goals by 2030. Special attention was given to implementing joint programs in the agro-industrial sector, advancing technological development, and supporting seed breeding and agricultural production.
Additionally, discussions highlighted the necessity of activating the EAEU’s integrated information system to enhance cooperation and economic interaction among member states.
During the meeting, an agreement on freight transportation between Armenia and Kazakhstan was also approved, aiming to strengthen transport cooperation and deepen trade ties.
