Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a meeting with U.S. Senate and Congress representatives, including Senator Roger Wicker (Republican), Congressman Andy Harris (Republican), Congressman Frank Pallone (Democrat), and Congressman Richard Hudson (Republican).
During the meeting, they discussed prospects for strengthening the strategic partnership between Armenia and the United States, the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process, the potential unblocking of regional communication routes, and the development of bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
Pashinyan emphasized the importance of signing a strategic partnership agreement between Armenia and the U.S., reaffirming his government's commitment to deepening and expanding cooperation in all areas. The Prime Minister highlighted Washington’s ongoing support in strengthening Armenia’s governance system, democratic institutions, and reform agenda.
Participants stressed the necessity of ensuring peace and stability in the region, as well as the implementation of Armenia’s "Crossroads of Peace" initiative. Pashinyan reaffirmed his government’s commitment to the peace agenda and underlined the U.S. role in strengthening stability in the South Caucasus.
Senator Wicker and the congressmen reiterated their support for U.S.-Armenia relations and emphasized the significance of expanding cooperation within the framework of the strategic partnership agreement. They also noted the need for active dialogue with the new U.S. administration to advance the bilateral agenda.
On February 1, Pashinyan, accompanied by his wife, Anna Hakobyan, traveled to the U.S. to attend the 5th Annual International Religious Freedom Summit and the "National Prayer Breakfast."
