A financial agreement titled “Armenia – Resilient Syunik Programme” was signed at the European Investment Bank (EIB) headquarters in Luxembourg in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and EIB President Nadia Calviño.
The agreement was signed by Armenia’s Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan and EIB Vice President Teresa Czerwińska. Under the €50 million loan deal, the program aims to foster sustainable development in Armenia’s Syunik Province, with a focus on enhancing infrastructure in water supply, healthcare, and education.
The initiative also intends to meet the needs of displaced persons and host communities who have settled in Syunik, contributing to dignified living conditions.
During the event, Deputy PM Grigoryan delivered welcoming remarks, emphasizing the significance of the “Resilient Syunik” framework loan agreement and expressing gratitude to the EIB for its efforts in preparing the deal. He wished success in the implementation of this important program.
“The cooperation between the Government of Armenia and the Bank reinforces the intensifying Armenia-EU political dialogue and growing partnership agenda—grounded in shared approaches to sustainable development, economic growth, and regional resilience,” Grigoryan noted.
As part of his visit to Luxembourg, Deputy PM Grigoryan also held meetings with EIB President Nadia Calviño and Vice President Teresa Czerwińska, where they discussed the prospects for further cooperation and the progress of ongoing joint projects.
